Watering the breeding stock today and taking a look around and found the first 5 wild (Merriams) turkey eggs. Incubators will be disinfected this weekend anticipating they will be humming by next weekend with the first sets of pheasant, chukar as well as wild turkey eggs.
Hatching season usually lasts 5-6 weeks so the shooting preserve is closed until September unless we shoot off the surplus breeding stock for early dog training in August.
If you click on the Whitewolf ad on the gamebird section of the hunting regs it will take you to my website: whitewolfbirds.com where you can read about day shoot prices during the fall and winter.
This is just a reminder that if you or your group will require larger quantities of pheasants or chukars this fall we currently only hatch enough for our own shooting preserve needs but are happy to custom hatch quantities of birds for other groups so long as the order is placed and a 25% deposit is on hand prior to the end of April. Minimum order is still only 20 birds and you can mix species and order 10 chukars and 10 pheasants. We have the capacity to hatch 3-4000 birds a year so orders in the hundreds are discounted appropriately for pickup in early fall to suit your needs.
Once the final set is incubating in early May we cannot do any more collections or sets so it is critical to know your needs for this fall and winter by the end of April.
thanks
Rob
