lake newell ice

Hi everyone. Just wondering if anyone has been out to newell in the last few days? Hows the ice? Is it gone yet?

Spoke to a fishin buddy this morning and he said Newell is about the only body of water out there that still is iced over. All the pothole lakes that he has seen are ice free.

Went by there this am. Newell is still pretty iced over, but there is major cracking and lots of water around the edges. The south end and around the islands is clear. Also went by rolling hills and it is clear.
