We have been fishing there for 30 years or so and other than the drought couple of years no worries about shallow water. Most is good as long as water is deep enough to launch your boat. Lots of drops to fish heading east and work the east dam and corners of it for walleyes. If you want monster pike work right in fron of the campground and deep into the big bay on the other side of the bridge. Lots of fish in there and some are hold on to your rod....Many days of 5-6 over 15-20lbs and bigger for pike and many walleyes and some in the 10+ lb range as well.

Good luck

With the amount of fishing that goes on within Alberta, you think that they'd have A LOT more lakes 'Mapped out'.

Then again... There aren't that many :o

Chin is one of my favourite lakes to fish around Lethbridge. Last year in a four hour time span i personally pulled out 23 walleye and 3 pike. Awsome lake, lots of trophy fish!

so far what everyone has told you about chin is right! there are also some nice spots on the west end for big pike and eyes...my best advice to you is that if you are going for walleye and things get slow, i have always had good luck on both north and south sides of the bridge with depths ranging from 13 to 27ft! although it seems more smaller walleye are being caught here there are always a few lunkers pulled out per season and it's always better to catch something than nothing at all! if you are ever interested in going to lake newell by brooks let me know i have found some unbelievable spots for walleye averaging from 4-11lbs and i would be more happy than to share them with you or anyone...thats what it's all about! hope this helps, take care and make sure to leave a few big boys for me!!

Yeah you can sit on rocks at the bridge and catch fish all day, every few minutes. Mostly smaller ones yes, but that's where we caught the 10 lber in my avatar :)
