Just wondering what power pro is like on an open face reel. Thinking of spooling up with braided line and using a 40 pound test fluorocarbon leader for pike.

I have two reels spooled with power pro (10lb and 20lb), so far so good, they are smooth, strong, and easy to handle.

The only difference I found comparing with fireline, is power pro is "soft", as it is easily get tangled at the rod tip, pay a little bit extra attention before you cast out.

I use mainly 10-20 lb braid mainline and 25lb FC as a leader. Works great, have caught thousands of pike this way.

It's definitely smooth and doesn't fray up like fireline.
