View Full Version : Sunday On The Bow

Today I headed to my favorite place along the Bow River in Calgary and fished from about noon until 1:45. I originally planned on fly fishing but forgot my fly rod so I had to fall back on my spin rod. I had a great day and had 4 on. Landed 3 in the net. Here are some pictures. They are in consecutive order. The first was pretty long but skinny and fought like a bastard. The second was a similar size but didnt fight much. The third one was huge and way longer than the other 2 and also quite fat. She fought like hell. The fourth got off. The first two pictures are of the smaller ones I caught. The last two are of the largest one.

wow good job!
fishing in a cold sunday, after these fishes, totally worth it.
now i regret didnt go fishing. lol

what kind of hook were you using

I was using a Rappala Countdown brown trout lure. It sinks nicely and has lots of action and I was fishing in a really still place in the river that was deep so it worked perfectly. I am heading back tomorrow after work. The lure is the largest that they have for that type.

Wow, those are some gorgeous fish. You Calgarians sure are spoiled. I AM SUPER JEALOUS!

Super nice fish> I am thinking of heading to the bow just above the carsland weir tonight myself. hopefully I have the same luck :)

Crud If I knew you guys were going tonight I definitely would have.....Guess I'll have to get up the nerve to take the bus out there tomorrow....If I can actually move..lol
