Yesterday I had the pleasure of following Matthew (fishbrain) on what might be the last safe weekend of ice fishing on Spray and he showed me how it is done. I did not catch anything but had a few bites. He caught 3. Two small ones and one pretty nice one. All lake trout. The first pic is of the two small ones. The second is the bigger one.

I think that there was about 3 feet of ice where we were. We are likely going to head back this weekend if the conditions are still good.

AHHH you beat me to the post!!!!
Glad you had a good time out there Jacen!! To bad the skunk followed.
Always happy to show someone new a place to catch fish. That and I get to meet some new people. Thats what got me started here.
I am hoping brianscott can talk my wife into letting me out for a day next weekend. will have to wait and see.

Thanks for showing me where to find sibbald on the way back, I think the kids will enjoy a little lake like that

OH and yes there is quite a bit of ice left, found that there is about 4" of solid then about 6" of soft, than another foot or so of solid again.
If anyone goes out next weekend, watch the shoreline, when we were leaving at noon, you could see the melt starting. I think one more weekend worth but not 2, just try to stay away from where the creeks run into it
