I was out today and got a nice pike (69')but couldn't figure out where the Goldeye are at around edmonton. PM me if you know and I'll tell you a sweet pike hole :)

East side of the river, across from Hermitage Park. Where the old power plant used to be.

Try south of the city. I've had a lot of luck at the Anthony Henday bridge in the south. everyone uses pickerel rigs there but you can use medium sized spoons and get big ones(I got a 3 1/2lb one a year ago there).

In my experience the goldeye run later in the year. In July/August, almost any area of slower moving water off the main current will hold them.

They are all over the river. Just gotta get them at feeding time. Had good luck just east of the city.

A little early for Goldeye. The time to fish for them is when the wild roses are in full bloom along the river.

Cheers,

Chances are you might have a few around your hook already.Have to fish with the smallest hook you can find on a pickerl rig

I would not eat any fish from the NSR if caught around Edmonton. Maybe up stream Of Edmonton say 50 miles or so.
