Well since I was born with a fishing rod in my hand, I decided to carry on the tradition. She will be three in June and I figure she is about ready to have her own fishing rod. First stop was Canadian Tire on our way out of town, I told her she could pick out her own fishing rod. I have never seen here take charge as she did at the store. She went through the isle looking at all the rods when she came upon the "DORA" rod. Next we headed out to K-country to get our lines wet, and I think I just made a new fishing partner for life......

awesome pictures, she had a great time it looks like. Started my boys around the same age and have never regretted it. Did they have any of those Dora rods left? Bet JTS1 would be all over those when his little pink one breaks! :D

Adorable :)

Can't wait to do the same thing in about 3 years.... She looked like she had a great time and I think it's fantastic that you're giving her the chance to try something new out. I can't think of a better fishing partner!

Great to see parents spending time with their kids these days.

I know for a fact that not every kid is going to grow up being a computer slug, and it looks like your little angel is already on the right track.

Cheers to you and the parents who wrote above on raising your kids with experience in the outdoors

Good for you dad!!
We have plans to do the same thing on Sunday. Mom is going out for the weekend with her sister, so since Mothers day does not need any planning, I decided it would be a good day to get the kids ready for the summer fishing. By the looks of it we are going to the same place you were at.
Were the fish biting?

Bring worms, (check the regs) and you will catch plenty. I was using power bait worms and we ha a few.

I have the regs with me all the time. We saw a few people catching a couple weeks ago on worms. I have some.
THanks

Great pics. Those are the memories that last a lifetime! There is nothing that you can give your kids and nothing they want more, than to spend time together. This is how they'll feel about you.:love::love:
