Hi guys.
I went to Dewitt's pond yesterday because one of the members from here mentioned that the pond was stocked on April 22nd.
My friend and I was there for 3hours in the afternoon but not a single bite!!!
Does anybody know if the pond was really stocked??
How's the pond at Crossfield?
any information or advices would be appreciated.
Thanks and tight lines!

I was told that it had been stocked this year allready , but have not heard of a fish out of it as of yet. Myself I have had a few out of Crossfield thus far

It was stocked with 2000 rainbow trout in 2005,2006,2007,2008,2009. No information thus far for 2010 on the government web sites. In previous years they've dumped 1000 in May and 1000 in June. So....one can only speculate they would do the same this year. All we can say for sure at this point is that none were stocked in April as your source suggested. Crossfield is also stocked in May with around 1400 rainbows.

I thought someone had said it was stocked too but read the stocking report which showed it had not been. From what I have read and experienced there they are small when stocked and can be hard to catch for the first few weeks. Does not seem to be that way at other small stocked pothole lakes.

I met the guy from Smoky Trout Farm there on April 22nd to witness him stock 1,000 rainbows and sign off his ACA form to that effect.

This was an issue last year with the list. It is not updated properly. The stocking list states April 27th but as you have said this was not added to the list. You would think it would not be that difficult to do a simple update...

Alright, alright I confess I've wetted a line there before too. And I have two kids that fish with me regularly.
