Took a walk up Tide Creek on Saturday. Good news is that the creek is full of wallys. Bad news is that thousands are stacked up at the first few beaverdams and can't go further up. Some get through; others get hung up in the branches and become raven chow.
After you get past the first range road west of Pigeon there is a beaverdam about every 200 yds. In past years someone (SRD?, Thorsby or Leduc F&G?) would come in with a mini hoe and bust up the dams. Maybe that's a better way to help the wallys than fretting about how many tags to grab cash for.
Just my $.02.
