I recently renovated a home for my parents and as a thankyou they want to send me on a fishing trip. I decided to take my dad.

Question is where should i go and what company should i book with. I am torn between trophy pike and walleye and salmon and halibut but i am leaning to the salmon fishing.

What time of year should i go to catch both salmon and Halibut and what tour company should i use.

All of your advice is appreciated.

Hockey.

If Salmon is the game, I would recommend Oak Bay Marine Group.
Head to the Salmon Seeker

All you have to do is get to Vancouver and they will take care of the rest.
Phone Rain at the booking office and she will take care of you.
It's fully guided and for timing I would look at Mid June.

Lots of HUGE halis, Good sized Chinooks and there should be enough Coho's around to fill your tags.

Out of all the places I have been, this place encompasses everything you should be looking for.

As for the price.. Phone out and talk with Rain, a guy never knows what deals they have going on.

Feel free to get in touch if you have any questions.

Check out molsonlakelodge.com
My buddy has been going there for years, 50-60 pike are not uncomon. They have a few choices to choice from I called and they still have some spring dates available. Good luck with whatever you choose

I would go to Lake of the Woods in Kenora, Ontario and fish for walleye, pike, muskie, bass, and lakers. There are lots of great lodges to stay at, and the fishing is incredible. Ash Rapids Camp is a good place with great food, and some of the best fishing on the west end of LOTW is close by. If you don't stay at a camp, but want a great guide, Jeff Gustafson is one of the best out there.

Also the best bang for the buck if you want to go on a serious lake trout and pike trip is Lakers Unlimited. I have not gone, but haver heard rave reviews from others I know who have been. Their pricing is a great value in my opinion for the quality of the fishery, and the size of fish.

I would say hands down nothing competes with ocean fishing!!

Gotta agree with you Mike, the ocean is the place to go. I've had many great experiences with "Cal" of "Spencers Sportfishing" out of Sooke on southwest end of Vancouver Island. Great for both salmon and halibut.
