Sometimes being big dumbarse rednecks who boat fish in a whiteout blizzard pays off. We forgot the cam at home, so these are back in the city(we limited out at 1) 9 pound 22.5 inch female, 5.5pound 23.5inch male. Only people on the lake of course...XD On Len thompsons, had a bigger one and and smaller to the boat too, but forgot the net and lost 'em

Nice fish. Congrats. I love fishing in crappy weather.

I'm with 209x50 on the weight though. I think you might want to check that scale one more time. Maybe it was a 5 pound barbell that you tested it with. 22.5" and 9 pounds doesn't make sense.

Well, I'm gonna listen to my scale, 'cuz it said the male was 5.5, and female 9, /shrug, biggest bow I've ever caught. Already brining to be smoked(Bought this smoker in the winter and haven't any trout but 2 little bows from Hasse to smoke) How busy is Muir usually? first time fishing there was today.

Well, that chart is inaccurate, since the male was long than the female and was way lighter o.O I usually don't post my catch on here, because everyone knows better than everyone else, just thought it'd be cool to show how we caught monsters(to us...) on such a bad weather day..

While you are at it given that the average length of a male fore arm from elbow to wrist is 15 to 16 inches I'd pick up a new tape measure while I was shopping too.

Way to go, I love fishing in storms too! I was out there last year and did well in bad weather.

i'd put those at 3-31/2 lbs at best. i've caught a few 7-9 lb ranbows that would dwarf those. any way nice fish and porn

Don't mind all the naysayers, you went out went now one else would! They're just realising they weren't man enough :) As I told a kid I was fishing with last night "This is what seperates the men from the posers"

Your scale is wrong.....period....end of story.

I am not trying to belittle your fish as they are nice fish but your weights are way off. Nice fish and thanks for posting.

Actually, the chart that 209 X 50 posted is accurate when I compare some of my fish against it.

Here are a few Rainbows that are about 3 to 4 pounds. The male at the bottom of the pic is about 23 inches and was under 4 pounds. The unfolded Sun newspaper in the pic is 23 inches. The 2 females would be about 22 inches and weigh just over 3 pounds.

Now here is Paul's 8.5 pound Rainbow which measured 28.5 inches. Right on according to the chart.

I use this method to check scale. 1 gallon of water is equal to ten pounds. based on 4.54 litres to the gallon.
How much does this one weigh out of dolberger ?

Yep dead on! Dave caught some nice fish and the pictures are great but the weighs are way off. Maybe a brain freeze reading the scale in the blizzard!

Why does everyone have to bash him, he posted pictures of fish he caught. I don't think he wanted this to turn into a ****ing match with what is and what isn't the correct way to weigh or measure a fish.

AOF has gone way down hill.

No one is bashing Dave. We all said we appreciated him posting his fish. He was politely called on the weights he quoted. Do you really think you can get away with claiming you caught a 9 pound trout on this board and not be able to back it up?

Dave is fine, his fish are fine, AOF is fine, Dave's scale....not so fine.
I don't understand your post, jesse.

Those are some nice bows, love the male more so. I can say that the female looks like it could weigh 5-6lbs hard to tell in pics of the actual size unless there by a measuring tape. Don't let people bring you down Davefish, this is how the world is. I've caught 24inch bows weighing up to 18lbs.

leave the guy and his scale alone-he is just showing his catch.

To many distrubers on here lately.
Maybe his scale is right-maybe it is wrong-if you care that much you need to start crocheting or knitting..
