This is a fairly big trout pond. Why don't they stock it with more than 2 or 3000 trout? Thats not very many.

Just got back from spending about an hour there. Fished from the dock and didn't hook a thing. I saw one little trout rise but that was it. :sign0176:

I was out as well today, You may have seen my buddy and I ( He was fly fishing). But he managed to hook one, but lost it near the shore. Today was much better, I saw a lot more fish rising!

Their really small rainbows, and for spinning setup I was using a little spinner and for fly fishing I was just using a beadhead prince nymph. Best to fish in the evening.

Does anyone think that stocking a lake like this with 14-16 inch rainbows and allowing for catch and release until Aug 31 then putting a limit on that would effectively see all fish harvested before ice makes any sense? I was always frustrated there that the fish were fairly small or essentially fished out so quickly.

Such a nice place to take kids and surrounded by Edmonton.

They use to have only kids fishing there but found out it is very hard to enforce. The fishing there is now covered under general regs for catching trout. I just walk by the ponds and head to the river for catching bigger poissone
