I used to guide on the East arm in the Snowdrift, Christy bay area. Its an awesome fishery !!!

my first and only time was about 1983 and went from ft res to snowdrift all by myself. had a great time.

Can you drive by vehicle to the East Arm? Any info for fishing around the Hay River area?

No driving to there. 100 miles by boat through a maze of Islands from Yellowknife.

i will be putting boat in at ft resolution and then up east arm.

Better pack some good maps and GPS with you. Its a great great fishery. 100 plus lakers a day is common !!!!!

How was your trip?

For anyone who has been up that way, if I wanted to get into good trout fishing would I be better off going from Yellowknife or Ft. Resolution? How far would I have to go? Is the east arm the main place they fish?

Safety D im thinking of going up there in august? how is fishing that time? What depth and area should a guy fish? will have downriggers and casting rods as well. Will be putting in at fort res have a 2425 harbercraft discovery but just trying to get it rigged up with gps and gear right now any info would be greatly appreciated.
