Beat me to it!

Word on the street is that Wabamun is the place to be for the pike, though I've never been there myself.

Where is that like down south or up north because I'm in the north west of Calgary.

It's out by Spruce Grove, so I guess North.

Google maps is your friend :) http://maps.google.com/maps?q=wabamun%20lake%20alberta

Wabamun is good. Sylvan is under rated. If you want quantity Isle is hard to beat. I hear real good things on Keho and Newell.

Spoons for the budget angler. Can't beat Rapala's or Cisco Kids for those wanting to go after the big hen's and don't mind loosing a few $20 worth of tackle each outing.

Blue Fox Pixee spoons are deadly for catching pike

I bought a Mepps Syclone 2 last weekend. Blue with silver reflective stickers. I kid you not. Every cast had another Pike on it. Not big ones, but my hit rate was 10X more than the guys standing on each side of me.

Theres tons of good Pike lakes around , Newell probably being one of the better ones down south and Wabbamun central area and Sylvan is pretty good to . And North theres plenty of them Winefred Lake stands out in my head , and Athabasca river .

The best pike lake that i have been to is Charles lake way north of Fort McMurray, but that is also a fly in lake. As far as a lure, my favourite is the floating frogs with the propeller legs on the back, deadly for top water action around weed beds imo.

Word on the forum is that Chestermere is providing fun with pike. Not very big but a close place to try out new tactics! Have fun!
