Looking to get into fly tying and just wondering if anyone can give me some advice on a good fly tying book for Alberta streams.
I mostly fish moving water but something that includes some still water patterns would be ok too.
Cheers

Here is a book from Phil Rowley. It's a great book with lots of good information.
Phil lives in Edmonton.

Beerhonky:
For patterns in a book written by Albertans, here are 2 I would recommend:
1) Trout Flies of Alberta and Southeastern British Columbia, by Neil Jennings,
2) Flies for Alberta by (authors and edited) Ian S Denny, Roy Ramdeen, and Reg G, Denny.
Unfortunately, being local books, I have no idea as to their current print status. You might get #1 at Country Pleasures, because Neil was/is an owner/partner there.
For #2, I have no idea; I think it was a limited print run, but I believe a fellow with the nickname of "Dragon Troller" on Doc's board would know, since its clear he's Reg's son (I think that Dragon Troller is probably Ian?)
Here's a link, that makes the previous comment clearer, kind of a downer post (and 2 yrs old), but I wanted to give accurate info:

P.S. Bonus recommendation; one of the first books I bought as a kid was Jack Dennis's Western Trout Fly Tying Manual:
