We ice-fish Splake and Brook trout out of a stocked lake near our cabin in Sask (jig a mepps #2, with heart meat) through the winter, works great. But we've never had any luck catching through the summer. We've tried it all; trolling with lindy rigs, spinners and lures, we jig, cast, as well dry and wet fly, with no results.

The whole lake is averages only 10 to 14 feet deep, there is good large and small rock structure throughout, surprisingly very litte weeds, compared to other lakes in the area.

Any suggestions? What do you guys do to catch these fish? Would appreciate any help.

Late evening & nitetime fishing. Cast out a floating Lindy rig tipped with a blown-up nitecrawler. Leave it sit. Try different depth's up to a couple of feet.

i would try little rapalas trolled way back behind the boat 40-50 yards that shallow and clear boat could be spooking them rainbow or perch colour or fire tiger should do the trick use small dia line like 4 lb fireline tie line directly to lure use the rapala knot should get your lure down 2.5-3 ft with that much line out
