does any one know what the water is flowing like in the eastern slopes of alberta. want to try the mcloed river this weekend but is it going to be flowing to fast for fishing and how dirty is it going to be

compare it to the flows in winter or early spring that should give you a good comparision what they are now

Just had a look at the Bow chart @ Calgary (I regularly check it).

I can say for myself that beyond 80 m3/s is pushing it for me personally. I have waded in 80+ m3/s and it does get challenging with my arthritis and my poor balance (have been using a wobble board to help improve this).

The Bow is presently 158.66 m3/s . . . and there is NO WAY I would wade in that.

I test the mcleod river water every day here at work in whitecourt and it is very dirty. Usually a color reading on the water over 100 is to dirty to catch fish and our color numbers right now are in the 500ish range so its way to dirty for any decent fishing. Also the level has come up 3 to 4 feet since beginning of may so it is flowing very fast right now.
