The lake right by creston -- Duck lake I think? would be my top choice. Ive caught em at tie and bayne a few times too, but nothing spectacular. Seems like decreasing populations, or at least last time i was there. Lots of sunfish though!! =)

Haven't been there in many years; not sure how it fishes now.
There's a bass fishing B.C. forum you could check out for more ideas.
Have fun & post pics!

Im heading to Penticton in the middle of August. What would I use to catch these Bass? And at what depths would I need to fish?

Check out someof the B.C. Bass sites and you'll find a TON of stuff...

My favourites are TOP WATER lures for BASS, especially LM's and Sinking Worms, Tube Jigs, etc for Smallies using an 'offset hook' or small headed Jig with good sized hook. Water depth, anywhere from 1' to 15' or so... Top Water Snagless Frogs and Cranks across weeds and lilly pads and try and 'hit' those small open patches in Weeds... Those are DEADLY. I watched JESSE MARTIN pull a 7 lb BM doing just that! Make sure you have at 'least' a MEDIUM/HEAVY Rod and good strong line to get those BEAST'S out of those weeds after they take the LURE... They go STRAIGHT DOWN.

ANYWHERE there are DOCKS, Boats, weedlines, Swimming areas, etc... you'll find TONS of BASS. They LOVE any type of surface water structure and places to ambush from...

Don't be too worried about using HUGE PLUGS, and CRANKS when shooting for the BM's... Those Gals will take em' HUGE!

Cheers,..

Went to Duck Lake for the first time 2 years ago- AWESOME!!!!! The bass can be hard to entice on bright, sunny days (especially big ones) but they practically commit suicide when it's windy, dark, & cloudy! Also the pumpkinseeds & perch will keep you busy when the bass are slow, not big but fun on the flyrod lol.

Bains lake 1/2 hour from fernie. I fish it about 3 times a year with my family and you can catch as many bass as you want 30 -40 a day. They are small but once inawile there is a 2-3 pound one. There is the largest perch i have ever caught the same size as the small bass. You dont catch them as much, but in a day you will catch 4-5 using a 6inc plastic worm:)

fished Windemere, Duck, and Christina

Christina lake is crazy clear water. I watched a smallmouth Bass 24 feet down hit my Berkley power craw that I was jigging on the bottom. Its the clearest water I've ever seen. Also, its not a windy lake either and its the 2nd warmest lake in canada. A real hidden gem. Hell, they even have boat rentals there

Haven't tried Vassuex, Oysoyos, or Elk/Beaver but want to.

I love my Pike fishing but the truth is: Bass >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Pike

a mitzo tube jig worked for me but worms were better , that was right in penticton on Skaha at the canal inlet . Be careful on those rocks
