The little fellas are jumping like crazy in the river by my house. I think its grayling anyway. I used to fish grayling in little streams back home with a red tailed black gnat, or a mosquito on the end of a willow branch.
The fish I'm seeing now are too far out in the river for the willow stick, and I'm not interested in buying a fly rod setup. Has anybody had luck with spoons for these things?
Also from what I remember they spook easy. Do you think a canoe anchored in the middle of the river would spook them too much? There is only about 5-7 feet of water at the deep spots.
