Thinking of taking a hike into a lake i've heard some good things about and want to try. I want to go either this Friday or Saturday - July 2nd or 3rd. I've heard there are numerous brookies in the 16-20 inch range with some bigger, only catch is that it will be a long day. The hike is about 15 km (although only about 400-500 meters gain), probably about a 4-4.5 hour hike. We would leave Calgary first thing in the morning and get back late. PM if interested and I'll send you details on the lake / location. It is about a 2 hour drive from Calgary.
sounds like its down the highway 40 somewheres, there is a few up there id like to hit, but id probably want to camp and hike down in a day or two

Well i would be game but i just got back last week from hiking into fortress. Giant brookies in there for sure. It sounds better than hiking 30km though! P.s that first photo scares the crap outa me!

Now that's a trip I want to do at some point. I figure stick with this closer lake for now as it's something that can be done with a bit less effort than a big trip to Fortress.
How was the fishing anyway? You should post some pics.
hahahaha wtf guys. ****in wierd pics. and im not worried about internet wierdos, besides i have my restricted and non restricted anyways

It certainly is a decent hike in and i was pretty destroyed by the end but needless to say the fishing was awesome. I didn't bring my fly gear just a light spinning outfit but still did very well. The magic lure was the good ol five of diamonds thats the only thing they wanted. It's definitely worth the hike if you ever feel like doing it. Biggest fish i managed to land was a 24" male starting to get a nice hooked jaw and was decked out in his colours. Awesome fish! Where are you planning on going Fishpro? if you don't wanna post it on here maybe p.m me?

btt, going in on Saturday, anyone want to come along? Always better to have more than one person when going into bear country.
