Hey everyone,
I was just going to update people on the status of Rock Lake and Wildhay River near Hinton.
Wildhay:
I was fishing nymphs(prince bead-head and zug bug) at this one bend in the river near the campground. I was on the the shore right above the foam build-up in the eddy and I caught 4 white fish and 3 rainbows in 10 minutes, it was amazing! the pictures are inserted below.
Rock Lake:
Before I left the campground at the end of the trip, I stopped at the boat launch at the east shore of the lake for 10 minutes; casting a size 00 mepps rainbow syclops(1 inch), working it along the drop-off at the end of the launch. I lost her the first time but the second cast BOOM! I had this fat Pike on the end of my line, I was worried that the line would cut, but since I use flouro it kept intact. It took me 2 minutes to reel'r in and I think it was the prettiest pike I have ever seen! Picture is below as-well..
So if anyone tells you that pike don't live in Rock lake, they haven't really fished there have they eh?
Peace
