Since lots of salmon postings on here thought I'd be allowed to add one as well...except this one is mainly for a big hali we got a couple days back. Here is a nice 150lbs halibut caught 2 days ago...and then an 80lbser caught today. Salmon fishing on the coast has been very good for us, getting into 20-30 Chinook a day.

I heard a rumor that the larger Halibut are not as tasty as the smaller ones, is that true? A friend of mine was on a boat and the guide said you don't want to keep the big ones as they are not good eating, was he full of it? Maybe he was a bad guide and couldn't put him on big fish, or he was against keeping big fish. Either way i would have a hard time throwing back a monster especially if it was my first one. Anyways, where do i sign up to catch nice fish like that.

The 15-40 pound halibut are the best eating.
