Just got back from the Rams/Blackstone rivers. No luck on a short trip up the North Ram. 0 for 2 so far.

Hiked down the South Ram and tried to wade up... Pretty high yet. My brother and I ended up doing a lot of hiking and climbing the cliff walls multiple times. Thank God it was as cool as it was this weekend! Ended up catching two Cutts. Possibly the same one twice. Both about 14". My brother has the pics, so I'll post them if I can get them from him.

Now the Blackstone... First time fly fishing for my brother and he ended up catching 7. 2 whitefish, 1 bull trout and 4 cutts I believe. Glad he caught something. Didn't keep track of my total, but I think it was about 10. Each of us hooked in to a beauty cutt. Each must have been about 20".

Just one request. If anyone catches a 5 or 6 lbs bull trout out of the Blackstone, please check for a PMD in the lip and send er back to me! Dang, I wish that one didn't run under that rock...

Didn't have many pics, but here a couple of the Cutt from the Ram and a small bull from Blackstone.

We went west on Chungo Creek Rd to meet up with the Blackstone, and that road is about 15 minutes north of Nordegg on 734. The Blackstone does cross 734 farther north though. Maybe 50km?

Heading west on Chungo Creek Rd, I believe it's about 20kms to where you first cross it. You can go farther west and meet up with it a few more times. We continued to the Gap. Rough road and pretty steep to reach this section. Really good fishing though. The river's fairly narrow up there, but has some very nice cascade/pool stretches.

It's closed to fishing even farther upstream at Mons Creek. The F&W Officer made it sound like people caused the closure due to disobeying the bait ban law...

Someone might be able to correct me with the distances, but I'm sure they are fairly accurate.

Here's a few more pics. I still can't net a fish all that well, while holding the rod... One day...
