Anyone ever go for whites on Long Lake just south of Boyle. I remeber the last few times I was there always seeing dead ones floating that were really nice size. Dead from a prop strike I would imagine. Ive never fished for Whitefish personally but I would guess there would be good numbers of them in that lake or were seeing that many floating like that.

Whitefish die in hot weather in the summer all the time, due to lack of oxygen in the water. When algae blooms and depletes the oxygen, the whitefish suffer. They aren't very hardy. Seems they won't leave their area to where there is more oxygen.

The are out there. I was there two weeks ago for the weekend and you can see them late in the day surface feeding all over the lake
