Lake Isle

Hi Guys,
I'm taking the boy out to Lake Isle (by Wabamun) this weekend. Is it worth it to try and fish from shore in this lake? Or should we head somewhere else? Maybe the Pembina river? Thanks for your input.

Ya I wouldnt waste my time. The water gets really gross and the late summer fishing is dead...

Was there last weekend fishing between the islands caught a fair number of pike of decent size and a couple walleye. I never fished from the shore myself but have relatives who have a cabin out there and they mentioned they have caught walleye off the dock. Silver and blue seemed to be the lure that was working the best out there.

hey, i was just at that lake visiting my grandma, so me and my cousin took the paddle boat out into 8-9 feet deep water and threw the encore out and casted i used a 5 diamonds spoon and caught 9 pike (1 keeper) and 1 walleye, but my cousin was stubborn on jigs and ended up catching 1 (keeper) and that was it.
all in all it was a good visit and i was surprised at how clear the water was (we could see the bottom at 10 feet deep.
