Gold on the fly

Goin out to try to catch a goldeye /w my new fav rod..my fly rod(sofar have caught browns, cuttys, brookys and bows /w it) tomorrow on the NSR, any tips? I'm thinking zonkers? White or black?

Fishing in the Edmonton area a black Zonker near the bottom works best for me. I put on a sink tip to get it down quicker. Other weapons are bow river bugger, or wooley bugger.
