View Full Version : Summer perch fishing help?
At this time of the year where would one find perch in a lake? How deep? In weeds, next to weeds? Bobber and a worm? Never really tried for perch at this time of the year. Thanks BEL

Shallow. Shorelines. Weeds or lilypads. Hiding from pike in weeds though usually.
Either small len thompson spoons or yes a bobber and worm, maggots, mealworms or shrimp.

I learned to fly fish catching these. Flip out some boatman imitation, leech pattern, or for that matter anything that is a good imitation of food stuff. It was a great way to learn because the smaller perch will gobble the wet fly without fail.
If this is outside your ability, fling some worms out under a bobber. If the perch are around you should catch something. Good luck.
Thanks. I thought they would be more shallow than the winter time. BEL

X2. Bobber and worm for me. If you are on them, u should have a strike within 45 seconds. Have fun:)
