quick fish after work

I had a long day at work, so I decided to hit one of the local lakes to unwind. Dead calm, water like glass, and cleaner after the recent rains. Lots of algae now, much earlier than last summer, but the pike were still crazy. Had one hit my buzzbait before I could even close my bail, then next cast to him it came 3 feet straight up out of the water and got the heart pounding. Twice had a fish hit the lure as I was lifting it out of the water, who need electroshock treatment when there are pike around!!! :sHa_shakeshout: Not bad for a quick evening trip 2 landed and at least 10 heart attacks! Tried the electric on the pontoon for the first time. and loved it. Pics were with the cellphone.

Top water for pike is sooooo much fun. One of my best days fishing was the first day I tried a buzzbait, funny thing I did not hook a one that day, I kept setting the hook to fast. The next weeken I learned to wait until I felt the fish before setting the hook, and to have a rigged second rod for followers.

I had one do a full launch when it attacked a top water walk the dog type plug, the last time out to the cabin, probably the hit of the summer.

Sounds good. Should be at Enchant the 30th, 31st, and 1st then I may tack on a day at beginning or end to ensure I get me exploring/fishing in. Sadly, this is my only vacation (if u can call it that) this year so I better take advantage of it. Like said earlier, will explore a res or two while in the area.
I know I'm a dork becuz I'm excited to catch 6" perch. Hey, whatever get's me away from work right lol!:sHa_shakeshout:

Must be tough to have all those lakes with in 20 mins of your house. I noticed in the second pictures the algae bloom has already started.
