Cold lake

Anyone been out to cold latley,havent been out since july long,
How has the fishing been?Thinking of going out friday.

Was there on Saturday,first time ever and had a blast! We caught around 35 Lakers, lost some hogs due to tackle/reel failures but managed to fill our limits as well as my 14yr old landing a 20lb'er.

Wow Mulestalker sounds like you did really well for the first time out.How deep were you fishing?

We were fishing around 80' in 125'-140' of water....

Been out off and on.....dodging thunderstorms in the afternoons. Have been hitting them at 80-100 FT, in 160-200 ft of water, trolling as slow as i could get. Have always caught some keepers but been putting them back unless i know for sure i have a male as the females are full of eggs right now and i hate keeping them unless i have to.

Fished two hard days 4 or 5 days ago and got one keeper. not another bite. I don't know if it's the bad roads, that it's too big a lake to learn or not but have decided never to go back. I wanted to find the walleye but couldn't. I went from Cold LK to the Meadow Lake Prov Park & what a difference. Not much boat traffic, smaller lakes and the Laker's there cooperated very well. Only a few more k's and so much nicer. Just my opiniun. I guess I just don't know how to fish very well.
