Our local gun club had its annual shoot this past Saturday, holding several bigbore, rimfire and pistol events. I entered myself in all events and my son,who is 11yrs old in the youth events, but he wanted to enter in the adult 300yrd "sniper rifle" shoot, knowing he can shoot pretty darn good I entered his name. Now this is a timed event, first firing 5 rounds at 300yrd target, then swing over and hit a 12" gong to stop the clock.I proceed to fire my rounds putting 2 in the X and 3 in the 9's for a 47/50 score, not bad but I think the nerves got me a bit. Several others proceed to shoot then it was my sons turn,I helped him line up and fed in the first round…2nd ,3rd, all in the X and the last 2 in the nines and a solid gong hit for 48/50 in under 2 minutes to win the event…..nothing to it!....11 yrs old! Talk about a proud moment, one we will both never forget!....looks like I've got some serious competition in the making!
