Hey Gramps, we got some at the SAWT, perhaps Brian can let you know where he got htem. I acutally just used them my first time the other day way up north on a big walleye that I live welled and she turned belly up. Put 3 weights on and I couldnt believe the fish. 3 hrs later it wanted to swim like hell....Im a beleiver.

Just buy the clip on weights for setting tipups. Unless thats what you already looked for...

I have found most of the ones you find in the store are to light. You can make them very easy with a bell or no snag sinker, and they are available in 2 and 3 oz which I have found to be the best. You buy the small alligator clips from totem, not the light ones the heavier duty one with the screw in it. This screw fits right throught the eye in the weight and is quite strong.

Not sure about using 2-3 oz weights ? Make some 1/2 oz for smaller fish and 3/4 to 1 oz for larger fish. You want to HELP the fish stabilize itself , not anchor it to the bottom. The fish does need to be able to move. Three 1 oz weights are plenty for fish over 10lbs.

I'm baffled. Is there any chance of someone showing a picture of a finned weight? I'd sure like to see what one looks like. And then I'll ask how you use them. Thanks, Rick.

I still do not know how to post pictures, but they are a 1oz weight attached to a alligator clip..as for using them you hook them on the front bottom fins one on each side, this will keep the fish straight up and down in the live well
