Fishing for Keepers

Hi, we have recently moved to Edmonton from BC and I am looking for some fishing in the area (maybe an hour or more drive) to take my boys. We would like a lake were we could actually keep and eat some of what we catch but are not sure if this is possible at this time of year.

We would be fishing from shore or our canoes.
