Tournament Fishing

I have been really interested in starting to fish some tournaments around our province so I have been looking around for some to fish in. Is the SAWT the only tournament tour that is left? I have been disappointed with the lack of any sort of website that categorizes all of the tournament details in one convenient location, and also at the lack of tournament fishing that I have come across. Anyone know of any other tournaments that go down anywhere/anytime in the province? What about ice fishing tourney's? Also I am just looking for any advice on the proper way to get into tournament fishing. Any comments are appreciated guys, thanks.

www.gowalleye.com/sawt/ for starters. There is also a NAWT, but there doesn't seem to be much of a website.

Others are more well known word of mouth so to speak. Like all the ones at Slave Lake. There are also few other private ones like the one at south buck, but they aren't avertised well.

Sask does a better job. http://www.saskwalleyetrail.ca/ Plus there are many other singles out there.

As for ice, lots of derbys but again word of mouth mostly. Places like the fishin hole also know about them so you can always check there. Badger, newell, gull, crawling all have ice derbys every year.

NAWT does not exist any more...... long story.. it has been replaced by the Western Canadian Walleye Trail...... website is still being worked on.... http://walleyetrail.ca/ I am not on the commitee but the boys running it are workin hard to keep events going here in Alberta!! They got their hands full with the government and some of the idiots fishing!!! I do belong and fish a couple of the events along with the Vanity!!!!:sHa_shakeshout:
