Just wanted to say hi to everyone on the forum and a big thanks for the info I've read in my short time on here. I'll gladly share anything that may be useful to others as well. I'm a lover of life, adventure and the outdoors (like many of you I assume). This year is my first for fly fishing and I love it. Below is a few pics of a cutthroat I caught on the Castle River a few weeks ago. I'm guessing he's pretty average in size?... but felt so good to have on my line as opposed to the 8" brooks and rainbows previous.

Cheers!

Yes! I seen a big bull right below Castle Falls but the current took my stuff away before it could sink. I might try a big streamer with split-shot to get it down to him next time. Any other ways to catch them?

Pretty fish, I love the Castle area.

Likewise. I feel fortunate to be so close. Sometimes head out after work for a quick evening.

I'm originally from Lethbridge too, so I miss getting down to the area as often as I used to.

nice fish. did you see one of the giant bulls in that pool? there are fish over 20 pounds below the falls. good luck catching one though. im pretty sure they have seen every lure ever created as that is a ridiculously hard fished spot.

Nice fish!!!

I heard the castle is pounded pretty hard.
I was there the otherday and pulled half a dozen cuts in a hour
Super fun on the 3 weight and 7x tippet, biggest was about 16 inches.

I want to get to know the area better.

Once again nice fish!!!

I was kinda expecting that. Sad eh... it really is a nice hat. Good things are coming, we're finally in a decent rebuild, and I'm not sure what the other Albertan team's doing ;)

True enough, at east you don't have senile Sutters running the show up there.....and you're not a Canucks fan<blah>......

... canucks... (shudder) more dislike there in recent years I think. Although I believe the Battle of Alberta is being reborn.
