There is a Jiffy in the Sears Christmas Wishbook, I don't remember what page it was on but I did take note of the payment plan . . . $55 a month billed to your Sears card.

This is the auger:

Is that the standard 3HP?

I can totally justify $55 a month :D It might be a little too much oomph for me though, as I'm not that strong.

Its the one with the plastic gearbox and IMO too much money for what its worth.

If it is the standard 3HP, it is $20 more at Sears than at TFH. If it is the 2HP, then there is a really significant price discrepancy. I can't tell from the photo which one it is for sure, but I think it is the 3HP.

Don't they all have plastic gear boxes, now?

No, at least I'm pretty sure no. The 3hp are usually on the 10" models, 2 on the 8". But what do I know, i'd never own an auger that won't start LOL.

price might be a bit much, I paid that for my 10in 3hp at wholesale, they work good, never had a problem starting mine even after its been sitting out at spray in the wind and -35 deg weather....you just have to get the carb set for the altitude....ritchie's small engine in airdrie 30 bucks....

TFH has the 8" 3HP for $479.95, and the 10" 3HP for $499.95.

TFH has the better price (and as my bank account indicates, I love TFH . . . should really just sign my paycheques over to them!).

Sears is just making it way too easy and tempting. I even had hubby agreeing to the Sears one last night (it is my Sears card, not his).

But then, I might have said something like "Are you planning to get me a power auger for Christmas? If not, I don't see how you can complain about me putting one on my Sears card."

It's an awesome auger! I've got the 10" 3 HP. It's absoulutely flawless. Like a hot knife through butter.

thats about what I paid for my white lightning 9 inch. awesome auger too. I cant believe I can hardly wait for the lakes to freeze up!!!! :angry3:

Just looking at the pic, it looks identical to the one I just saw on crappy tire's website.

I think they sell it for $430 or $450??? Could be different if you look closely @ the specs. But thought I point it out in case you could save a bit more.

You are correct good sir. It is $450 on the Crappy Tire site.
