We are currently looking at upgrading our trailer. Looking to buy used for between 5 and 10k. As welll I will be towing with a 5.7 tundra so I think a max of 26' as I have around a 10 000lbs tow cap.
I am looking for advice on what is good for mostly fall/winter conditions and what brands are good or not.
Looking at the added space you can have in a smaller trailer such as these, I am interested in some of the hybrid's. I would appreciate any input on how much heat you loose going with one of these units and whether or not they can be adaquate for fall hunting.
Any input or recomendations would be appreciated.
I am not looking at 5th wheels as I put the quad in the truck.
Send me your knowledge O' god's of the outdoors.lol.

Sorry, but I've seen your trailer. I'm looking for something with a little less flash. I could'nt imagine how I would feel if your GEM slid into a tree.

I want something that has a bathroom, not like your luxury trailer that just like a ford, is a bathroom.
yah, them's fightin' words.
Howz life going?

Check out the Jayco line up for Pull Trailers. I have a 29' with a 16' slideout. I have took our camper off road for the last 4 years from Kakwa to Kokanees and been thru a lot of rough roads (and off). Not one problem of any kind, father inlaw has a 24' and no troubles either. :) Bought the Tin side model instead of the Fiberglass, saved 5 grand:sHa_sarcasticlol:, same interior and structure.

I would recommend putting in Air bags on your truck if you want to haul a quad while pulling the trailer (or a Quad). I have installed the Firestone system with air pump, and will never have a truck without it again.:sHa_shakeshout:

PS, make sure you truck tires have at least a 8ply sidewall, really sucks changing a tire with the factory jack and have it collaspe trying to lift the truck and quad up:sign0161:

I own a hybrid trailer. Personally for fall/winter use I'd go hardwall all around as the hybrid will lose heat...and lots of it, not to mention the condensation that forms on the inside of the tent section when you sleep if it is cold outside. But then again I am sure there are people who use tent trailers in winter who don't see the condensation as an issue...to each his own.

My two cents.

hard wall all the way...

Hybrids are great in theory, but just remember if it rains on you while camping, you will have to let the canvas dry out once you get home. Not a big deal in the summer, but in winter when it's raining/snowing all the time may be an issue.
Also, you'll lose a ton of heat out the canvas ends. Which means you'll be going through propane like crazy, oh and be cold...

+1 on the airbags.. you've already got a shaky box, don't want a shaky & saggy box..
