Does anybody know where i can get the best maps of back country roads in alberta. By this i mean roads that would not normally be on maps etc?

Have you tried the backroads map books? I've flipped through a couple and there were many oilfield roads on them that would not be on any regular maps.

i agree that the backroads maps books are pretty detailed. you can find them at walmart or canadian tire. if you want a larger edition of something similar then an alberta oilfield atlas will give a little more detail from map city.

I used to use the backroad map books till I lost a few. When I went to replace them I found they had split them up differently the they were 6-7 years ago so I would have had to buy 3 separate books to cover all the areas I fish and hunt.

Picked up this guy instead , I find it's even more accurate and it covers all of Alberta for $20

They are available everywhere , Macs , 7-11 , most gas stations , pretty easy to find

Thank you TH. I did not know MapArt had a backroad atlas.

Good to see some competitive prices out there.
