I've been on fracs like that when i worked for halliburton. I'm guessing the ticket, before discount, was around 1.5 million

I would have to agree around 1.5-1.8 mill. I have seen some pics like this from down south in Rock Springs.

Where was this taken.

I count 32 heavy trucks there. $2m divided by 32 is only $62,500/unit. As a huge guess on my part of $200,000/unit, times 32, equals $6.4m. Thats just for the heavy trucks! Stormy, you're probably spot on!

We just did a frac similar to that one. It was about $1.0 mil for for frac oil alone. Then about $500000.00 for the pupming services.

I count 25 tanks and 20 pumps. Price is based largely on Kw used during the pumping.

Add another hundred grand for the cost of cleanouts after they sand off (hey this IS Trican...)

Depending on where they are they may or may not have well and they won't know until that frac is done. I have pumped some big fracs but nothing quite that big. That deep foothills stuff requires alot of horsepower to get the job done!!

OK, I'm a bit confused. The question was, what do you think this is worth. I made the assumption it was the value of the equipment. Did the question mean how much it cost to put the well in? I have an idea, but can someone give a clear explaination as to what 'Fracing' is?

Tree:rolleyes:

Hey Tree,

Basically you are pumping a gelled or foamed fluid(frac oil, fresh water, KCL, methanol water) with sand added in stages into a set of perfs in the well to create a fracture in the zone where the product is(gas or oil). The gelled or foamed fluid then breaks down and the sand is left to hold the frac open.

Depending how deep and the type of formation you will need more or less HP, the reason you see all those frac pumps in the pics. Each one of those pumps can put out so much rate(M3/M)so depending on the program you may need one pump or thirty.

Theres a bit more to it but I type so slow thats all I got for ya.
