Winterizing a boat/motor

Need help from you guys with experience, inherited a boat over the weekend.
what is the proper way to store this over winter, has been tarped. But my big
concern is the motor 150hp mariner. Welcome all advice.:)

Get some engine fogging and a set of ears for the garden hose if you haven't got them, and fog the motor following the directions after you have added a full tank of fuel with stabilizer in it.
Drain the bttom end, and check for water ( milky oil).
If the bottom end seal is good, refill it with lower end gear oil.

At this time , I usually pull the plugs and check them, changing them if needed.
I also change the gas filter in the fall, checking for water.
Remove the battery, and put a charge in it. ( I recharger it halfway through the winter as well)

It's been years since I ran an outboard except for my little kicker, but this is what I used to do.
I can't be bothered with the hassle of changing stator fluid on my jet boat, and all the other stuff, so just put it in the shop and my boat wrench does the winerterization for me.
There is usually a bunch of other stuff to be done as well, and it gets taken care of then.
All I do is take the batteries out and make sure they are charged.
Then in the spring, all I do is reinstall the batteries, turn the key, and GO!:D
