I have to learn so much about Alberta before this hunting season as I am new in Alberta.

How can I find out the locations/boundries of crown lands? what are the sources to get the maps etc? Are there any limitation to hunt on crown land? are there 'types' of crown land? Please advice.

Thanks

I think that your best bet is to get a "county map" of the area you plan to hunt. These maps give you the land holder's name, or shows you where crown land is. Sometimes crown land is leased, and in that case, you will need to get permission for access. Where are you located? One other thing to note is that permission for private land is usually not that big of a deal to get in Alberta. Map Town in Calgary or Edmonton is an excellent resource for all sorts of maps.

It's both... here you go:

I've never been in their Edmonton location, but assuming that it is the same as Calgary's, they have all sorts of maps.

I wonder if they have custom maps with WMUs in topo that can be downloaded into gps? May be too much to ask!
