Drove down Tuesday afternoon, spotted the North part of the zone. Found a not bad buck with 9 does, decided to pass on the first antelope spotted.
Started out Wednesday morn early, headed out towards suffield, saw a buck right away, wasnt real big, passed on him. Went a ways more, saw a critter a mile away on a bluff. Layed the long eye on him, and he seemed reasonably solid. Went and got permission, parked a ways off the road, and hiked in about 3/4 of a mile, found the buck by himself. Crawled onto a small bluff and ended up 200 yards from him. Checked him out for a bit and decided that he looked pretty enough to take for my first ever loper. Dropped him on the spot. Tikka T3 lite, 270 wsm. Thanks to my good luck charm Traci for being there with me. Was alot of fun, and a beautiful day!!!
Stopped by the SRD checkpoint for tooth removal, and a quick measurement, headed back home, happy!!!

I woke up Wed. morning and the first thing I thought is "Toe is gonna shoot an antelope today, I KNOW it!". Sure enough, he did.

Nice one for the first one in the family, bro! Now you've set the standard, I'm gonna have to get a pretty good one to beat that beauty. Good job, congrats!

Hey Grizz...didnt make it far enough for the elk, got into the antelope too soon!! gonna have to go down and do some scouting...

Hey Rack...trip went real good...had a funeral to get back to, so the scouting portion wasnt so good...gonna have to spend some time down there again soon!!
