Me and my buddy went deer hunting yesterday evening and ended up shooting a huge black bear. we were barely at the fields when 2 does came running right at us going mach 1. we thought nothing of it until we spotted this brute 200 yards from us. we tried sneaking up close enough to shoot it with a bow but some how he found us out and was ready to run off before i shot him with my 30.06. it was a great evening.
enjoy.

i think i'll go with a rug. it costs less all tho a full body mount would look good to seeing as this bear had a perfect black coat.

Any chance you got that guy off the sunchild? I've seen a monster hanging around there the last few weeks.

To start off congrats on the bear ,I love bear hunting and have taken many and was just wondering how you weight him.
Did not think that bear would of weight that much from the photo ,he looks kinda of small when compared to your rifle ,that is if you would place the rifle on the back of the bear he would be no longer than the rifle, maybe a 5 foot bear.I would of guessed around 210 pds max,but I have never weight a bear.
Have to find a scale to bring hunting ,if you did weight him do you know where I can find a scale?
Again Congats.

Nice bear, nice crease in the skull definately mean shooter in my books. Seen quite a few 400+lb spring bears shot. What do you guys think he will go in the spring? 280-300? Still bigger than the bear I shot :mad0030: ha ha
