Well I had a great 6 days of hunt last week.
Started my journey out south of Cadomin hoping to find a ram or elk off the mine. Had a great chance at a monster bull elk but having my rifle on my pack I could do much but watch him run off at 60 yards!
Then it was off to My cabin in 346 for some more elk hunting for 3 days. We had a blast met up with a few buddies and my dad. I shot a nice little doe with the new rifle. My buddy took his first buck a 175" gross whitey! Way to go dude!

Then late sunday night I got out to east Alberta and Met up with Leige river and he showed me a few spots to check out. The first bull I got onto was a giant well over 160 class bull but he held up at 60 yards in some thick willows. Later that night a met up with Gords daughter Marilyn, and they where kind enough to welcome me into there home for supper and a warm bed!

The next morning we headed out and we soon got back onto the bull. Marilyn and I called back and forth with the bull for a few hours but he was layed up with a cow and didnt want to leave her so we backed out and went to see what else we could find. It wasnt long when we came upon a young bull and cow and calf we snuck in to 60 yards of them and called them in but they held up again in the thick stuff so I placed Marilynn on the small trail and I used a slight wind to push my scent into the thicket. When I came around the bush Marilynn was waving me over and she told me the great news she had stuck the big cow with an arrow rite behind the shoulder. The blood trail was awesome so we backed out and gave her 45 minutes to go down.
When we came back there was another bull there where we had been calling so I snuck up to 30 yards and decided he wasnt what I had waited 7 years for and let him walk.
We soon got on the trail of the cow and spotted her standing in a small beaver pond and a quick stalk and one more arrow in the lungs and she was down.....In the slough lol
After a four hour drag and skin we had the cow in the truck! I was so proud of her for keeping her emotions under control and getting it done on the big tasty cow! I cant Thank you enough for all your hospitality and welcoming me into your home! I look forward to finding a Giant bull with your family!
