My buddy and I spent last weekend exploring some of the area around Lampert creek walking cutlines. We were hoping to maybe get lucky with an elk sighting but were not really expecting much. Did okay as we bagged a whitetail buck and doe, lot of those there!! Must have seen about 20 in the last hour of light.
Just wondering what kind of success folks have had with elk in this area. Like I said we didn't scout, just showed up last weekend just to get out. Found a fair amount of sign, bugled a few times just in case it might get something going. We loved the country and will be going back. Any tips on areas, tactics? We both just love getting out of the truck and walking, and sitting.
