This is my first year fishing since the 80's and I have had great fun fishing for Pike this summer, a fish i have never fished before. My favorite spot will apparently be a mud flat in a few days because they lower the water levels in fall.
I am curious as to why the water levels are lowered in some of the resovours ?:(

Legally half the water from the Bow has to go to Saskatchewan, so once our irrigation needs are met some of the secondary reservoirs are lowered to make up some more volume. I know thats part of the reason, Im sure theres more to it than that though. Ive been watching one of my locals this last week or two, and its dropped almost 10 feet now. A great time to scout it out for open water season, and for places to ice fish too, since the fish will be concentrated in the deeper areas left over. I see Newell has stopped releasing, Cowoki and Tilley B seem to be still at normal levels too, I dont know if they lower them or not.
