I was recently invited to a conference at Chateau Lake Lousie. Now when I was kid I was told by my father that no fish lived in the lake due to it's cold temperature. I brought my rod in hopes I could stop by the Bow river on my way out of the park. During one of the breaks in the conference I went for a walk down to the waterfront. I was shocked by what I found in the shallow water along the walkway. I ran back to my room and grabbed my limited equipment and raced down. I fired my 5 weight together and threw on an emerging caddis puppae and voila! Years of misconception gone on the first cast. In 45 minutes I landed 10 of these, none more than 10 inches long but a hell of a way to break up the day. The colors were astonishing as they were getting ready to spawn. Next time I will try for the cutties that are listed in there although I'm sure they are small too. Enjoy.

Yep, lots of small cutties and brookies in that lake. Plus you get like 500 pictures taken of you by the tourists while you are fishing. Im probably iconic in China. LOL

Cheers.

Some years back, a tourist from California rented a canoe for Maligne Lake but was told that there were few fish as there being so much limestone sediment in the lake. He caught a 20lb rainbow, if you googled long enough you'll probably find a picture of that fish.

Nice fish pictures!!!
