Over the past couple years I had heard these fish stories of friends catching big walleye in the fall. You know the typical stories of, “it was this…… big!” LOL Yet I had never experienced it and could only guess that their pictures were trick photography and somehow they were pulling my leg.
Normally come September I am out hunting and fishing gets put off till after hunting season. Well this year I had a couple opportunities to hook up with my buddy Ray of Reel Angling Adventures, but the timing just never seemed to work for both of us. Finally late last week we agreed that we would hit the river on the last day of the season (Oct 31).
So on Sunday me and my neighbor buddy Colin headed north to spend a day fishing with Ray. When we got on the river it was a cool, crisp, frosty -9 degrees. In the end it turned out to be a great day. As you can see from the following pics we had a great day on the river. This biggest Walleye landed was 9 lbs 3 oz. I can now believe my friends of these giant late season Walleye they talk of.
Thanks to Ray for a great day of fishin!
