Fish in the Highwood River?

Is there fish in the Highwood river east/downstream of the town of High River. If yes what type and when is fishing season? Thanks in advance for any answers...gev

There are fish in there but they are few and far between. The Highwood gets better towards Longview and upstream of that and again the fishing gets better as you go downstream closer to the Bow. Fishing east of town is going to be very slow but every once and a while you will find a nice rainbow or cutthroat. Lots of white fish in the fall. The Highwood is closed on November 1st and will open again on June 16th., but it is usually high and muddy on the opening date. Best of luck if you give it a go. Rick.
