:mad2: I bought a Yamaha 450 Kodiak last year and can't get the brakes to stop squeaking. Got really bad this fall. Took it back to the dealer and was told that this has been a problem for quite a few years. Yamaha has changed the design for their 2008 models but will do nothing for poor saps like me. I asked the dealer if I could somehow lodge formal complaint with Yamaha and was told I couldn't.

I have lost respect for Yamaha and I'm seriously considering selling the damn thing and buying from another vendor. I really like the quad, but what else can I do?

Any ideas/recomendations would be apreciated.

Thanks!

Most manufacturers have a customer relations number-try a few other dealers and see what they say. If you get no satisfaction I would try using aftermarket brake pads/shoes.

I just got a 2005 Kodiak 450, and it was really squealing. I have replaced the pads with EBC sintered pads, which has fixed it for now, but if they start making noise again, there going to get drilled.
